UACES European Studies Research Students' Conference 2009

This one-day conference is aimed at students who are actively engaged in research. The emphasis of the conference will be placed on tackling the specific challenges which arise at varying stages of the doctoral process. This event is an opportunity to meet fellow students who are engaged in related fields of research and an ideal introduction to the UACES community.

The conference is hosted by the European Commission Representation in the UK and the UK Office of the European Parliament, London.

UACES would also like to acknowledge the support of the British International Studies Association (BISA). More information about BISA can be found at www.bisa.ac.uk.

UACES STUDENT FORUM

The UACES Student Forum is the student branch of the University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES) aiming to provide students with useful resources and networks for their research. The Student Forum was created in 1999 to provide UACES with a specialist body for its many members still in full-time education. The aim of the Student Forum is to provide a voice for graduate students within UACES and to facilitate dialogue and the exchange of information between students at different institutions.

It is not a pre-requisite for students to be a member of UACES to take part in the Student Forum, but by joining UACES as a Student member you receive extra benefits such as financial assistance to help with travel costs when travelling to or from a Student Forum event or a UACES event.

UACES STUDENT FORUM ELECTIONS

During the conference, there will be elections for places on the Committee of the UACES Student Forum. Any student attending the conference or on the EuroResearch email list is eligible to vote. If you wish to stand for election you should contact any of the current UACES Student Forum Committee members. Any student may nominate themselves to stand for election, although it is expected that any successful candidate should join UACES (if they are not already a member).

Further information about the elections.
